Social Media Activist Training for Influencers Quickstart Guide

Introduction

Thank you for purchasing this program because I created it for you! I hope you find it valuable and instrumental in getting to your next level of online influence, and revenue.

I am an anti-vaccine activist who has gained a certain level of prominence in the anti-vaccine/vaccine choice movement and as such I have seen dozens if not hundreds of activists who have garnered some social following, but who have not taken it to the next level. I often thought to myself that they would be so much more successful and have more influence if they would set up a website, set up a Facebook Page, got email subscribers, and so on. If it is one thing I know we need in this particular movement it is the growing of more social media influencers so we can make a bigger impact on society, so I set out to create a program that could help them – and you – do exactly that. My program though is not just for anti-vaccine/vaccine choice activists/influencers – it can help any Influencer grow their audience and engagement no matter what cause they are passionate about.

I know this may seem overwhelming to you. However, what you are actually doing is setting up several systems so that once they are set up, you can plug content into these systems so you can reach more people, make a bigger impact and increase your revenue and revenue potential. Of course there is more work to do with more systems, but the payoff is greater too, in many ways. So, do not be daunted! Just make steady progress and within a year or two these systems will be fine tuned and your reach and audience will be so much more than what it currently is. So, be excited!

I Recommend:

1. First, watch all 5 training modules before doing anything else, in this order:

a. Audience Building

b. Mailchimp Email Setup (SEE UPDATE BELOW)

c. Take better photos and videos

d. Photoshop Tutorial

e. Monetization

f. WordPress Website Setup

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT COURSES…

Each course includes a PDF Table of Contents based on a timestamp, and also a PDF Transcript, also with timestamps. These PDFs can be downloaded to your computer and you can use the "find" option in your PDF reader or in your browser to search and find specific words or phrases. You can either then read what I said, or know exactly where to go to watch that part of my training.

MAILCHIMP UPDATE - MUST READ:

Mailchimp now has an updated policy that it does not allow discussion of vaccine safety or efficacy on its platform and now disables any account that does so, including mine. The PRINCIPLES of setting up an email system remains the same, however, and the training is still valid and will apply to other marketing email providers. I cannot share with any confidence who will not ban us, but here are some resources for you:

www.robly.com

www.mailpoet.com

www.sender.net

Also, here is a new WORDPRESS PLUGIN that I am now using to collect emails, which is very similar to Mailmunch: https://mailoptin.io - it works great!

2. Decide on your brand name

a. I suggest a mission driven name (e.g., Stop Mandatory Vaccination is a mission focused name)

b. Ask some close friends to review your name ideas

c. Does the name immediately convey what you are about?

d. It is not imperative that the name itself matches the URL of your website – my book is The Beginner’s Guide to Natural Living but my website is TheNaturalGuide.com for example.

e. Do not move forward until you are happy and confident with your name, and any tag line you associate with it

f. Use GoDaddy.com to check availability of a URL

3. Set up your Mailchimp.com email account (OR ALTERNATIVE EMAIL ACT)

a. This is easy to do – do easy stuff first to get the ball rolling: www.mailchimp.com

b. Create your email list name in Mailchimp

c. Mailchimp email pixel width is 600 pixels – make your images 600 pixels wide (same fr other providers)

d. You can use their landing page feature to set up a landing page that you can then share to social media to collect emails. This is not a preferred way, but it should not take long to get a few people who will probably register once you share the page onto Facebook.

4. Set up a Photoshop Account / get Photoshop

a. https://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop.html

b. $10/month – worth every penny

5. Set up your Amazon Affiliate account

a. https://affiliate-program.amazon.com

b. When you have a large audience you can get an Influencer page, like what I have: www.amazon.com/shop/stopmandatoryvaccination

6. Create Facebook Page

a. Banner size is 1640X924 pixels

b. Use the “invite friends” feature once you begin posting content

c. Turn on two-step authentication for your Facebook login (uses your mobile phone in addition to your password for all new logins) – this will help prevent a takeover of your account by a troll/criminal

d. You can start posting, or wait until you have everything set up

e. Get Facebook Business Manager http://business.facebook.com

f. Set up an Ad account

7. Create Facebook Group

a. Banner size is 828X461 pixels

b. Ask one or two trusted friends to help moderate, as Moderators

c. Be the sole Admin unless you are 100% certain of the other person who you would make an Admin – Admins can obliterate a group

d. Some suggested settings:

i. Public group

ii. Moderator approves members

iii. Anyone can post without moderator approval

8. Set up your website

a. Use Bluehost.com for your WordPress website hosting

i.  https://www.bluehost.com/wordpress/wordpress-hosting

ii. I recommend the Plus plan

iii. Go through the setup process, including your domain selection

• If you are website savvy, and want multiple websites, I recommend LiquidWeb.com, which is who I use for my ISP

b. Set up your email in the cPanel

c. Log into your WordPress website and save the login in your browser

d. Select your Theme

i. I like Fluida by Cryout Creations

ii. Remember, Themes are selected from within WP

iii. Be sure to select a Responsive Theme (works on mobile)

iv. Set up your Theme and review on your computer and your mobile device

v. Too much setup for you? Hire someone from Craigslist. Post an ad in Craigslist > Gigs > Creative (Los Angeles or another big city) stating you have a WordPress website and you have (or have not) selected a Theme and you need someone to set it up for you. Offer $250 ~ $350 – you should get a lot of replies.

vi. This is the “look and feel” of your website and once it is done, you won’t need to mess with it much more.

e. I suggest you make your Theme one column to ensure it is optimized for mobile – how 80% of your website traffic will view your website

f. Add these essential Plugins (from within WP):

i. Classic Editor

ii. Backup - UpdraftPlus

iii. MailMunch

iv. Yoast

v. WP-Optimize

vi. Social Share icons

vii. Ad Inserter

viii. Facebook comments

g. Set up all of your plugins, especially UpdraftPlus and MailMunch

i. Updraft: once you have a website with lots of traffic, consider an upgrade to adding backups to their vault

ii. For MailMunch, be sure to add that popup to collect email subscribers AND add a form at the end of posts – your email list is very valuable.

h. Set your Permalink Settings (SETTINGS > PERMALINK > CUSTOM STRUCTURE) – do this BEFORE you begin posting content.

i. Figure out your primary navigation (menus) and the content you are going to have on your static pages (e.g., Home, About, Donate, etc.).

j. Add your homepage page and your blog roll page.

k. Once you have your Theme dialed in, add your primary content (Pages).

l. Create your first blog (post) with perhaps an overview of why you created your website. Just something to get onto your blog roll if you do not yet have content.

m. Remember to use Yoast on all Pages and Posts to set your meta data - Title, Description and Image - this is essential to your success in social media.

n. If you make a mistake on your meta data and want to CHANGE IT after you have posted to Facebook, you need to run it through the Facebook debugger for Facebook to show your NEW metadata: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/og/object/

o. Set up donate page; and a PayPal account if you do not have one

p. Set up Google Analytics and Webmaster Tools
